Client satisfaction is attorney Candice Hughes’ number one goal. As a criminal defense attorney with Guest and Gray, that means listening to her clients, educating and reassuring them during what is almost always a stressful situation, and getting them the best possible outcome so they can get on with lives.

Growing up watching cop shows in a small town in East Texas, Candice Hughes always knew she wanted to work in the field of law. After earning a Bachelor of Science degree in criminal justice from Texas State University and starting a family, she settled on a career as an attorney, returning to law school and earning her Doctor of Jurisprudence from Texas A&M School of Law in 2017. She interned at both the Rockwall County District Attorney’s office and Guest and Gray law firm before joining Guest and Gray full-time on the criminal defense side.

Since then, Hughes has represented numerous clients in misdemeanor and felony courts in Rockwall and Kaufman counties. Although she finds it more satisfying to get a case dismissed without going to trial, saving her clients both the money and stress of a trial, she is experienced in trial work, and specializes in handling drug and DWI cases. Whether a criminal, probate, or family law case, her ideal client is one who will trust her and be confident she is there to see things through.

Known for getting along with everyone and cultivating good working relationships with area district attorneys, one of Candice Hughes’ greatest strengths is her likeability, although she doesn’t shy away from being combative and adversarial when necessary. She thrives on the unique nature of each case and the creative thinking often required to get her clients the best deal they can get.

Married with two daughters, Hughes lives in Rockwall and is a member of both the Rockwall Bar and the Kaufman Bar. An attorney with a Christian background, Hughes believes in working the law and doing her best for each client. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, Netflix and chilling, and her favorite stressbuster—CrossFit workouts.

Client Reviews
Guest and Gray law firm is wonderful. I have had the chance to work with three of the lawyers and they all have been wonderful. They will tell you when you need a lawyer and when you don't. They actually try to save you money. They respond very fast to questions and try to help you understand what is going on. They are caring and are really judgment free. If I needed a lawyer again I would use this firm in a second and recommend them. K.K.
I used Guest and Gray to deal with my ex wife's accusations of child neglect.I dealt with Robert Guest and Tracy Gray. Both were excellent attorneys and surpassed every expectation I had in fighting the false accusations. We Won ! M.B.

I can highly recommend Guest and Gray. I have worked on a number of cases with Robert Guest and and Scott Gray and find it amazing how MOTIVATED they are to do everything they can for their clients, not to mention that there superior knowledge, etc. In criminal cases supportive relatives always want to know "what can I do" to help.
