Sarah Blackstock
Family Law AttorneyA native Texan, family law attorney Sarah Blackstock brings a blend of empathy, knowledge, and steadying calmness to her clients as she helps them navigate some of life’s toughest moments.
Sarah earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Government from Texas Women’s University and worked as a technical support engineer and a technical and marketing writer before pursuing a career in law. Her tenure in her previous careers has provided her with invaluable life experience and translatable skills that serve her well in her family law practice, including exceptional drafting and writing skills, attention to detail, and the ability to translate complex information and terms into easy-to-understand language.
Following numerous years in the corporate world, Sarah graduated cum laude from UNT Dallas College of Law, where she was editor-in-chief of the Law Review and a member of Phi Delta Phi, an international legal honor society. She further distinguished herself as the recipient of the CALI Excellence for the Future Awards for Advance Legal Research and Dispute Resolution in Family Law and as a legal writing teaching fellow. Drawn to Guest & Gray’s close-knit team and collaborative approach, Sarah joined the firm in 2022.
Now, Sarah brings the same chutzpah that drove her to live in The Netherlands, pivot to pursue her passions regardless of the challenges, and apply to law school at age 37 to her law practice. Believing everyone deserves access to representation to help them through the difficult aspects inherent to divorce and custody cases, Sarah excels as being the voice of reason during emotional times—strategizing and laying out the options help her clients move forward when they can’t think clearly. While Sarah focuses on finding reasonable common ground and reducing animosity whenever possible, she’s not afraid to get tough when necessary to get the best possible outcome for her clients.
An avid reader, baker, and creative DIYer, be it crafts or home renovations, Sarah lives with her husband in Dallas.
